The Marina is closed for the season.

The 77 slip Charlevoix City Marina, located at the base of East Park in downtown Charlevoix, is equipped with: 

  • A boaters' lounge
  • Floating docks
  • Laundry facilities
  • Restrooms

Other services are provided by Ward Brothers' Boats, located adjacent to the marina, including:

  • Diesel and gasoline
  • Marine repairs
  • Marine supplies
  • Pump-outs

Slip Reservations

Slip reservations can be made by using the Michigan Department of Natural Resources Reservation System, or by calling 800-447-2757. Reservations may be made six months prior to arrival. Slip availability may be very limited throughout the summer months due to festivals and events in downtown Charlevoix, and no reservations may be made during the final four days of the Venetian Festival. 

Marina Operations

Starting in the 2023 season, Charlevoix City Marina transferred fully to slip specific reservations for all reservable slips. All slips in the marina have been renumbered. Seasonal Dockage

The City of Charlevoix has eight seasonal slips to be rented with the following stipulations: 

  • Four slips will be allocated for non-tax paying or non-resident boat owners. 
  • Four slips will be allocated for tax-paying or resident boat owners. 
  • The City also has two commercial seasonal slips. 

If interested in being placed on the Seasonal Slip Waiting List, find the policy and application here. Applications should be returned to the Recreation Department in City Hall at 210 State Street, Charlevoix, MI 49720, along with the application fee and copy of  the current boat registration. New applications are placed at the bottom of the list. If the boater is contacted and offered slip and refuses, they are moved to bottom of list. The deposit is also non-refundable when the applicant voluntarily withdraws from the waiting list.


The City Council sets the fees on an annual basis.

New in 2023

45 Day Extended Stay

The Marina will allow a number of reservable slips to be rented for a 45-day period during the spring and fall. Annually, staff shall set the dates based roughly on the first six weeks of marina operation and the six weeks ending at the end of September. The rental rate will be the actual daily rate for that time of year.  Rates shall be set annually by the DNR and City Council pursuant to the Charlevoix City Code. Boaters will have the option of selecting either a 45-day spring stay, a 45-day fall stay, or both. 

Please note: A current copy of your boat registration must be turned in with your application, even if you have submitted one in the past. Applications will not be accepted without the registration.
